The tunnel tunnel is probably the most important mechanical work of the ancient_Greeks.
A tunnel, 1,036 meters near PythagorionSamos, built after command of the tyrant Polycrates in the 6th century BC in order to transfer water from the spring located behind the mountain in the capital of Samos. The aqueduct functioned on the island for about 1000 years.

“The math brings together water in Samos” is the title of eikonokinitikis film created by TP Tassios, Law. Mikas and G.. Polyzos Company Ancient Greek_Technology (EMAET) funded by the Association of Technical Companies of the Highest Classes (stearate).

What makes it stand centuries after its construction is the fact that the tunnel was dug from the two ends simultaneously.

The meeting of two parts below the top of the mountain was performed with mathematical precision, despite the fact that the geological conditions forced the engineer Eupalinos be diverted several times by the alignment.

The positive outcome of the project is due to the knowledge of geometry, surveying, geodesy and Optics held by the ancient Greeks in the 6th century BC.

Unique source for Tunnel Tunnel is Herodotus, who describes the main and auxiliary tunnel.
